Objectives: Review major concepts of weathering, erosion, and deposition
What we did:
Objectives: Review major concepts about weathering, erosion, and deposition.
What we did:
Make-up work: if you were absent today, I will check your study guide the day of the test. If you were absent yesterday, I will check both sections of the study guide Thursday. Objectives: review major concepts about weathering, erosion, and deposition
What we did:
7th Period HW: Finish the first three sections, Rocks and Weathering, Water Erosion, and Glaciers, #1-23 Objectives: Review main ideas and key terms from the unit to prepare for the upcoming weathering, erosion, and deposition test.
What we did: We took time to finish working on the Chapter 9 Picture Collection, and then the leftover time was used to do textbook problems 1-10 on page 305 (on a piece of notebook paper). DUE TUESDAY Homework:
Objectives: Review major concepts of land forms created by deposition and erosion.
What we did:
Objectives: Understand how wind can erode sediment and deposit sediment, and what land-forms are made from this process.
What we did:
Objectives: share/learn about effects of coastal erosion around the world and ensure correct answers on the reading guide about waves and wind.
What we did: We went around the class and reported out about the erosion article that we looked up last Friday. Then we went over the answers and peer-graded "Reading Guide - Waves (296-300)" Make-Up work: make sure your coastal erosion article summary is turned in. Objectives: Explore real-world examples of coastal erosion through maps and through news articles.
What we did:
Make-up work: Google Classroom assignment "Coastal Erosion Article." Resources: Example articles for Google Classroom assignment
Objectives: Learn about how waves erode the coast and what types of land forms are created by wave erosion.
Instruction for Make-Up work: Watch this video and on a piece of paper, write two sentences of observations (what you SEE, not something you assume.): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwuPB33NoWQ Then, read pages 296-300 in your textbook. On the same sheet of paper, write down the answer to Reading Checkpoint at the bottom of page 298, and the Reading Checkpoint at the end of the main text on page 300. Turn this in to the Make-Up work folder While you were gone: we read the textbook out loud together in class and looked at real-world examples of these land-forms as well as going through coastal erosion effects together. Here is some material to help you understand if the reading was difficult for you or you want a deeper understanding: Video explaining how water erodes the coast Diagram of Headlands Objectives: Summarize the important information we have learned about glaciers and look at real world examples of glaciers. Introduce the topic of Factors that Affect Water's Force of Erosion
Make-up work instructions: Read the following slides that we went over together in class: Water, Glaciers, Wind, & Waves |
MAKE-UP WORKIf you missed a day, check here to see what we did the day you missed. It will include links to videos and any worksheets we did as well as due dates. It is your responsibility to keep track of your work! Thank you :) ArchivesCategories |
